Enter Our Spring Giveaway: Win a Free Assortment of CJ's Natural BUTTer, a Cloth-Friendly Diaper Rash Ointment

We're excited to sponsor another free Spring Giveaway this month! You can even earn extra entries (see How to Enter for full details).

1 lucky winner will receive a free assortment of CJ's BUTTer, a homemade amazing, natural, cloth-friendly diaper rash ointment: a 4 oz jar and 6 additional sampler scents.

CJ's BUTTer can be used to treat:

  • ezema
  • rashes
  • windburn
  • dry/chapped skin
  • rug burns
  • for postpartum relief (dissolve some in the bath for a soothing soak)
  • hang nails
  • and even as a treatment for smoothing ethnic hair

I cannot recommend this product highly enough!~ My newborn hates (let me reiterate - HATES) diaper changes, but his crying immediately stops when I put on his BUTTer. It is also available in a wide variety of scents - some smell good enough to eat.  It's also available in unscented if your child has super-sensitive skin.

I just posted my birth story. I love this site! I think education is key in having a good birth experience because it helps us to know what we are capable of. Thank you for putting this information out there!

Just found this site and am enjoying the stories. I really would love to try this product as we are cloth diapering Little Guy and will be starting on Baby 2 in June. We do deal with sensitive skin issues in our home as well...might be a great find for us!

Thanks,
Heather

Congratulations Catherine. My name is Catherine too. I can relate to your lack of choices. I faced a similar issue of knowing no hospital would honor my "birth plan" and further, Midwifes are not allowed to attend home birth in my state which also has no birth centers. Needless to say, insurance would not cover a midwife anyway. Finally, my small (pop. 558) conservative community do not approve of my unconventional beliefs and right to choose them. Not wanting to undergo the fear and trauma of investigation by Social Services again I felt backed into a corner. So... she was born in the car on the way to the hospital. While not ideal, it was the least traumatic of 'non choices'. In hindsight I just wish I had kept hubby pulled over for longer -- they took her away from me as soon as we arrived and I'm having trouble getting over my guilt at not protecting my child and placing myself in a position to be traumatized yet again by the powers that be. Seems they are inescapable. Maybe I will post my birth stories on your site soon. Sometimes I don't like to remember them as certain aspects of each upset me all over again

Hello, 41 weeks and a day...we're just trying to be patient for our first baby today. I'd love to try an all natural product, that's all I use in my home; I make herb salves, balms and oils as well! Localuniverse@gmail.com

Does anyone know anything about using salt water for birth pools? I cant seem to find any info on it, but I do know that salt water is closer to PH of our skin, and that it would prevent "pruning" or osmosis, and that birthing in sea water is practiced...Anyone?

I have had three inductions in the past and this will be my first time to go natural. I wish I had been more informed about the risks of inductions and epidurals with my other three children. Thank you for your website and all of the information that you share. I am looking forward to experiencing my labor naturally this time around.

I have really enjoyed your site just as everyone else seems to. Last fall I decided to pursue certification as a birth doula after having the "typical" hospital birth with my first child. Pitocin, Epidural, purple pushing, and all that jazz. But I have learned so much since then. I'm now due with our second in less than two weeks and have found much encouragement from other readers as I prepare for a whole different experience this time around.
